Manyara Regional Referral Hospital (MRRH), through the Ministry of Health, has announced volunteer opportunities for qualified Tanzanian applicants. The opportunities are available at Manyara Regional Referral Hospital, Babati, in various health and support positions.

1. Assistant Nurse Grade II – 8 Positions
Qualifications
Applicants should:
- Have a Diploma in Nursing from a government-recognized institution.
- Be registered with the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC).
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful volunteer will be expected to:
- Provide nursing care to patients.
- Monitor important health conditions and vital signs.
- Educate patients and their families.
- Provide health education.
- Provide care to mothers and children.
- Perform other duties related to their education, experience and expertise as assigned by the supervisor.
2. Health Assistant – 5 Positions
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- A four-year secondary education qualification.
- Basic knowledge and skills in health-related fields as recognized by the Government.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties include:
- Cleaning work areas, wards and surroundings.
- Assisting patients with disabilities and those who cannot help themselves.
- Assisting in feeding patients who cannot feed themselves.
- Helping patients who need assistance to go to the toilet.
- Collecting patient samples for laboratory testing and monitoring results.
- Cleaning equipment to prevent infections and contamination.
- Monitoring patients' medication requirements from the medicine storage area.
- Performing other duties assigned by the supervisor.
3. Health Records Assistant – 2 Positions
Qualifications
Applicants should:
- Have completed Form Four education.
- Have knowledge of Health Records and possess a certificate or equivalent qualification from a government-recognized institution.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicants will be responsible for:
- Registering patients and those referred to other facilities.
- Maintaining records for all registered patients.
- Preparing and issuing patient cards.
- Receiving patients referred from other facilities.
- Searching for records of inpatients and outpatients.
- Sorting, filing and storing patient records in file racks/shelves.
- Updating information stored on computers and providing statistical information as required.
4. Grade II Driver – 2 Positions
Qualifications
Applicants should:
- Have a Class Four driving licence.
- Have a Class E or C driving licence and at least one year of driving experience without causing an accident.
- Have completed Basic Driving Course offered by VETA or another government-recognized institution.
- Be aged 18 to 45 years.
Duties and Responsibilities
The driver will be required to:
- Conduct vehicle inspections.
- Inspect the vehicle before and after journeys to ensure roadworthiness.
- Deliver various messages during official trips.
- Maintain and follow travel routes.
- Record and maintain all journeys in the vehicle logbook.
- Keep the vehicle clean.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
General Requirements for All Applicants
All applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Be a Tanzanian citizen.
- Have a valid Class Four birth certificate.
- Submit copies of relevant certificates and identification documents, including academic certificates, professional certificates and a birth certificate, where applicable.
- Attach two recent passport-size photographs.
- Provide an updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- Have basic computer skills, particularly MS Word and MS Excel.
- Be aged between 18 and 45 years.
- Testimonials and result slips will not be accepted.
- Applicants should have good conduct and must not have been convicted of offences involving moral turpitude or dishonesty.
- Certified copies of certificates should be endorsed by a Magistrate/Judge.
- Payments will be made according to the Government's volunteer guidelines for the 2025 financial year.
Note: Certificates and academic documents submitted without the required verification/endorsement may not be considered.
