The Executive Director of Mbozi District Council announces and invites qualified Tanzanian citizens to apply for 10 approved job vacancies, following the approval received from the Secretary General, President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance, as detailed below.

1.0 OFFICE ASSISTANT GRADE II – 5 POSTS

1.1 Duties and Responsibilities

i. To type letters, reports and ordinary as well as confidential documents.

ii. To receive visitors, identify their needs and direct them to the appropriate offices where their matters can be handled.

iii. To maintain information and records concerning events, appointments, visitors, meeting dates, journeys of the Head of Office and other work schedules.

iv. To search for files and documents required in the execution of duties.

v. To receive files and distribute them to Officers in the relevant Division, Unit or Section.

vi. To collect, keep and return files and documents to the respective offices.

vii. To arrange agenda items and make preparations for various meetings.

viii. To prepare lists of office equipment and supplies required.

1.1.2 Qualifications

Applicants must have completed Form Four or Form Six education and possess a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or an NTA Level 6 Certificate in Secretarial Studies.

The applicant must also have passed the final examination in Kiswahili and English at a typing speed of 100 words per minute, and possess knowledge of office computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail and Publisher from a college recognized by the Government.

2.0 DRIVER GRADE II – 5 POSTS

2.1 Duties and Responsibilities

i. To inspect the vehicle before and after a journey to determine its safety condition.

ii. To transport staff to various locations on official duties.

iii. To carry out minor vehicle maintenance.

iv. To collect and distribute various documents.

v. To record and maintain information concerning all journeys in the journey logbook.

vi. To keep the vehicle clean.

vii. To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

2.2.1 Qualifications

Applicants must have Form Four education and a Class E or C driving licence, with at least one year of driving experience without causing an accident, together with training certificates that qualified them to obtain the respective driving licence classes.

Applicants must also have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA or another college recognized by the Government.

2.2.2 Salary Scale

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR APPLICANTS

i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged 18 to 45 years.

ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must indicate their disability in the employment application system for information purposes to the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat.

iii. Applicants must attach a detailed CV containing their current address, reachable telephone numbers, e-mail address, and the names of three reliable referees.

iv. All applications must be accompanied by certified academic and professional certificates certified by a Lawyer/Advocate. These should include Form Four or Form Six certificates for applicants who reached those levels, as well as certificates for relevant training according to the requirements of the position, including:

  • Postgraduate/Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma/Certificate
  • Form Four and Form Six examination certificates
  • Computer Certificate
  • Professional certificates from the respective professional boards

v. Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statements of Results, Form IV and Form VI results slips will NOT be accepted.

vi. Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure that their certificates have been verified and certified by the relevant authorities, including TCU, NECTA and NACTVET.

vii. Applicants for the Driver Grade II position who possess a Class E or C driving licence must attach the driving training certificates that qualified them to obtain the respective licence classes.

viii. Applicants who have retired from the Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.

ix. Applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions within the Public Service should not apply and are required to follow the instructions contained in Circular No. CAC. 45/257/01/D/140 dated 30 November 2010.

x. Applicants who submit forged information or qualifications will be subject to legal action.

xi. Applicants who submit false information or qualifications will be subject to legal action.

xii. Interviewees whose names differ on their documents must submit a Deed Poll registered with the Ministry responsible for Lands.

xiii. The deadline for submitting applications is 1 October 2026.
